Shannon Feehan
Shannon teaching Therapy with Sidewalker volunteer
Head Therapy Instructor
Shannon was born and raised in Orlando, Shannon began riding and showing locally in the hunter and equitation divisions at age 8. She spent all her junior years riding working and competing with one of the top trainers, Jennie Jarnstrom. As a working student, she assisted in horse care and preparing students for lessons. Upon graduation from high school, she attended a local nursing school and got her certification in Nursing Assistant. After a few years of working at nursing homes, she realized her true passion was with horses and working with children.
It was during this time that she met her future with Andrew Anderson and Better Times Farm. Andrew and Shannon had a lot of the same views with helping the community children through the love of horses. She has trained under Andrew and learned his ways of communicating and rehabilitating rescue horses and horses that need training. Excited by a new challenge that would allow her to still utilize her 13 years of riding experience, Shannon decided to attend Spirit Horse in Texas and get certified to teach therapeutic riding. She passed her certification in June of 2012 and began working full time for SHWEC. The students have been fun and rewarding, and she is so happy to lead the therapeutic riding team! Shannon enjoys spending time at her home farm with her children.
